It’s easy to set up your website! Especially nowadays, there are various tools for setting up websites, such as WordPress, Wix, Weebly, Shopify, etc., which are all very useful and can help newcomers to complete the action of setting up websites by themselves easily. Still, what tools to use to set up websites and how to set up websites by themselves, newcomers may need clarification so that I will make a simple. Therefore, I will make a simple WordPress tutorial in this article; I hope it can help you!
Why choose to use WordPress to set up a website?
WordPress is not only one of the most popular tools used in the world, but also because many website owners are using WordPress, and many developers have released various free and useful plug-ins. Many WordPress groups are also for discussion, so expanding and customizing your website is easy.
However, the main reason I recommend WordPress is that WordPress is more mature than other website tools in terms of SEO optimization and article writing, and many websites selling domains can be easily linked to WordPress, which is very time-saving and convenient for new website builders!
The following editor will introduce how to use through and Godaddy to build a WordPress website!
Step 1: Go to Godaddy’s website
Go to this link on Godaddy and then: https://www.godaddy.com/hosting/wordpress-hosting

Step 2: Choose the plan you want
Then you can choose the plan you want, and I suggest you choose the cheapest plan first and upgrade your project after you get familiar with the WordPress interface.
For example, my website is currently on the third plan (flagship version), which includes free SSL (http to https), which is the easiest way for me.

Why use Godaddy?
Godaddy is not only one of the world’s largest domain trading platforms but also a long-established server, hosting and SSL certificate provider which provides a stable quality of service.
So you don’t need to go through all the steps of finding a host, server, database, etc., to set up a website. You can do it all directly on Godaddy, saving newbies a lot of time.

Step 3: Choose your favourite domain name
One of the most important aspects of setting up your website is to have your own “URL”, and with Godaddy’s WordPress solution, you get a “free” URL, so you can type in the URL you want to check if it is not already being used.
Unless the URL you choose is very expensive, you may need to pay a premium to get the URL.
Note: When choosing a web address, it is recommended to choose a cheap, simple, unique web address (.com / .org )that is not too often used.

Step 4: Checkout
You can then proceed to checkout, but if you don’t have a Godaddy account before you checkout, you may need to sign up for one here!

Step 5: Go to the backend to open the WordPress hosting service
After checking out, we can go to our backend in Godaddy, open the WordPress hosting service and prepare for the website setup!

Setting up WordPress on your website is just half of the story. You must check a few more things off your list to provide your users with a visually appealing and secure platform. Here’s a detailed list of things to update on your website:
- Selecting A Theme
You need to have a beautiful, eye-catching website to attract incoming visitors and convert them into customers.
This is where you need to decide what theme to use. While there are thousands of options in the market, the best WordPress themes offer the following:
- Great loading speeds
- Lots of customization options
- A user-friendly drag-and-drop builder
- Support for future updates
Next, you must decide what kind of niche you’re opting for. You can install a multi-purpose theme or choose one specifically built for your use cases, such as e-commerce, online publications, portfolios, or agencies.
Here’s a short review of our top theme picks for GoDaddy WordPress websites to simplify the process.
Astra

When looking for multipurpose, multi-functional WordPress themes online, we rarely see the option “free” option, as most themes are priced based on their features. However, if you’re on a budget, Astra is one of the best free themes you’ll find and one of the fastest-loading WooCommerce themes out there. Plus, the free version of this theme is already almost comparable to many regular paid themes.
Astra is a lightweight theme integrated with Elementor and Beaver Builder page builders. It is compatible with the WooCommerce e-commerce plugin and Yoast SEO, an SEO plugin. With this theme installed, pages will load quickly, and users won’t have to worry about over-coding slowing down the site.
However, Astra’s biggest selling point is its free 60-starter website templates that you can import anytime to suit your needs.
GeneratePress

GeneratePress is an extremely reliable and fast all-in-one theme for niche site builders and blog owners.
It’s used by over 500,000 websites and occupies less than 30kb of space on a new WordPress website, no matter what web hosting company you’re using.
You can get free and paid versions of GeneratePress, but the premium plan offers more customization options and a year of support and updates.
One of the best features of GeneratePress is that it’s purely optimized for speed, so it will continue to load up within seconds after uploading content and installing tons of plugins.
Elementor

With over 5,000,000 active installations, Elementor is a visual page builder that allows you to produce original designs for your pages.

Whether you are running a small blog or a large online shop, the SSL protocol is a necessary security feature for all websites. If you conduct online transactions, you will also need a premium SSL digital certificate, but a basic free SSL certificate is acceptable for most websites.
Securing your WordPress website with SSL is crucial for gaining customer trust and ranking higher on Google.
The little SSL ‘padlock’ beside the URL makes visitors feel secure when sharing sensitive data, such as passwords, credit card details, and home addresses. It will also boost your Google rankings as the search engine rewards websites that offer data protection to their visitors.
GoDaddy includes one year of SSL protection, purchasing every hosting package over 12 months. You can also purchase their all-in-one Website Security plan for a discounted price or hand over your SSL duties to their team with their Managed SSL Services.
